With work on the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Dzire progressing rapidly, the company seems to be gearing up for a vigorous round of the testing of the sedan in India. Not long after the first batch of images of the new Dzire hit the web, the model has been spied undergoing testing again, this time also giving a sneak peek at the cabin.
The latest images come from GaadiWaadi and TeamBHP forum. While one set of the images shows the new Dzire's rear and front view, the second set shows the cabin. The interior of the Dzire looks interesting, and the cabin does not seem to be line with the new Swift.
The new Dzire is expected to come to the market in 2017 before the arrival of the new Swift. At the front, the 2017 Dzire is likely to get the new projector headlight with day time running lights (DRLS) and bold grille. At the rear, the sedan in its new avatar is expected to get LED tail lamp cluster. Maruti is expected to equip the new Dzire with features such as a larger touch screen infotainment system, new alloys and high resolution MID (multi-information display).
Under the hood, the new Dzire is likely to carry over the 1.2 liter petrol and 1.3 litre diesel engines of the current model. The new Dzire is also expected to get a 1.0 litre BoosterJet engine along with SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) technology. Other features likely to be seen include automatic climate control, keyless entry with push-button start, reverse camera and steering-mounted controls.
Maruti Suzuki is expected to manufacture the new Dzire sedan at its plant in Gujarat, which will commence operations in early 2017.
