Rumours till recently had tipped that Windows developer Microsoft might launch its upcoming flagship Lumia devices with codenames 940 and 940 XL.
Countering all those rumours, here is a fresh one that suggests the upcoming devices will be codenamed 950 and 950 XL instead of 940 and 940 XL.
The rumour also suggests the release is imminent and Microsoft might launch both the variants following the Windows 10 operating system launch.
Reported by ithome, the rumour further suggests both the anticipated phones will feature killer specifications inside a metal frame and might be launched globally in October or November this year. The report further explained the specifications of both the devices and said the rumour originated from a trusted source.
The Microsoft Lumia 950 will boast a 5.2-inch, 2560x1440 pixels display, while the Lumia 950 XL will flaunt a bigger 5.7-inch display with similar resolution. Both the devices will come powered by a hexa-core SnapDragon 808 SoC. On the memory part, the Lumia 950 and 950 XL will pack 3GB RAM backed with 32GB built-in storage and memory expandability support.
Both the devices will run on Microsoft's latest Windows 10 Mobile OS and will pack a 3,300 mAh removable battery along with a USB Type-C port. On the camera side, both the Lumia 940 and 0940 XL will feature a 20MP primary camera and a 5MP secondary camera.
The concept image posted along with the article hints Microsoft might pack a Tri-Tone LED flash instead of dual-tone LED flash, which would help users click better images under challenging lighting conditions.
