OnePlus has established a respectable brand name in the smartphone world with its worthy, low-priced smartphones. Now, the company is considering expanding its product portfolio with a successive flagship smartphone.
OnePlus recently confirmed that the next OnePlus Two smartphone is already in works and a new leak from a Chinese publication reveals some interesting features of the upcoming handset.
OnePlus Two will have top-of-the-line specs, according to GizChina, It will feature a 5.5-inch display same as the current OnePlus One smartphone but with higher resolution. The company has plans to increase the resolution from Full HD to Quad HD (2K) in the next model, much in line with most of the flagship smartphones coming this year. The upgrade won't stop at just that as sources hint at Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, the latest SoC in the market, to serve as the powerhouse for the OnePlus Two and 4GB RAM.
The sources also added that the OnePlus Two will have a slightly bigger battery measuring at 3,300mAh compared to the 3,100mAh in the OnePlus One model. As the latest report suggests the company's plans to update the current model to Android 5.0 Lollipop, the OnePlus Two will also run CM-based Android 5.0 out of the box.
With the upgraded specs, OnePlus also plans to increase the price of its next flagship. The current model sells for around $350 but the upgraded spec sheet will add another $100 to the price tag. The OnePlus Two will be priced at RMB 2,699 yuan, which translates to $435, GSM Arena reported. Even so, OnePlus Two will be priced efficiently compared to other flagship models with similar specs.
