Jaguar Land Rover India has launched the second generation of the XF sedan at the starting price of Rs 49.50 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The company has opened the booking procedure for the new version of the sedan while deliveries are scheduled to begin at the end of September.
The new Jaguar XF will be available in India in the following engines and derivatives: 2.0-litre (177bhp) Diesel Pure priced at Rs 49.50 lakh, 2.0-litre (177bhp) Diesel Prestige priced at Rs 55.90 lakh, 2.0-litre (177bhp) Diesel Portfolio priced at Rs 62.10 lakh, 2.0-litre (237bhp) Petrol Prestige at Rs 55.65 lakh and 2.0-litre (237bhp) Petrol Portfolio at Rs 61.85 lakh, all prices being ex-showroom in Delhi.
The XF is based on the new aluminium-intensive iQ platform that also underpins the XE and the F-Pace SUV. Extensive use of aluminium has resulted in huge weight reduction as compared to the first generation, and the new XF weighs just 1,687kg. The platform is also 28 percent more stiff than the structure used in its predecessor.
The new version of the XF comes with the new design language of the company that made its debut with the Jaguar XE sedan. The face of the sedan has been reworked with a large mesh grille, bigger air intakes and new LED headlamps with revised LED DRLs. The front and the rear bumper have been tweaked to house the changes. The tail lamps are inspired from the XE. The sedan also flaunts boot spoiler.
Inside the cabin, the dashboard and the steering wheel have been updated in line with the bigger sedan, the XJ. The top-spec variants of the new XF feature a 10.2-inch InControl Touch Pro system. The sedan also boasts of a Meridian sound system. The 380W sound system with 11 speakers is standard on the Prestige derivative while the digital 825W surround sound system with 17 speakers is standard on the Portfolio version.
