Hyundai launched its all-new Elantra in India on Aug. 23 (Tuesday). The Elantra has been priced in the range of Rs. 12.99 to Rs. 17.99 for petrol and Rs. 14.79 to Rs. 19.19 for diesel (all prices ex-showroom Delhi). The prices are introductory and the company will increase the new Elantra prices from January, 2017.

The stage is all set to welcome the new Elantra from the house of South Korean auto-major Hyundai in India. The new Elantra premium sedan will go on sale in the country on Aug. 23 (Tuesday).
The launch event of the Hyundai Elantra will begin at 12.00 p.m. IST.
Hyundai's new Elantra has been making headlines in the country for quite some time now. The sedan, which made its online debut through spy images, leaked reports and lately also through the teaser images, is one of one of the most-awaited and desired models of 2016.
The car has already started reaching the showrooms of the company ahead of its official launch in the market and is expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 15 lakh to Rs. 18 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Elantra, which will take on the likes of Volkswagen Jetta, Toytota Corolla Altis and Skoda Octavia. will be offered in six trims -- S, SX, SX AT, SX (O) and SX (O) AT.
The Elantra sedan will be sold in both petrol and diesel engine options. While the petrol-model will get 2.0-litre Dual VTVT unit under the hood, the diesel variants will come powered by 1.6 CRDi engine. The new Elantra petrol will churn out 151bhp and 190Nm of torque, while the diesel unit will belt out 127bhp and 265Nm of torque. Both the engines come coupled with the choice of manual and automatic transmissions. The diesel MT of the new Elantra will deliver a fuel efficiency of 22.4 kmpl, whereas the company promises 14.6 kmpl with the petrol MT.
It sports a prominent hexagonal grille with a pair of swept-back headlamps in the front and LED taillights. The Elantra also gets vertically aligned DRLs and new alloy wheel design. Other features in the list include cruise control, steering mounted control, anti-pinch electric sunroof, eight-inch touch screen with Apple Car Play, 16-inch alloy wheels, rear armrest and smart boot opening.
