Hyundai Motor India, the second largest carmaker in the country, has received overwhelming response to its new Elantra sedan with over 405 bookings and 7817 enquiries in eight days of launch. Pricing is one of the major choice makers in this segment and Hyundai has priced the sixth generation of the sedan competitively compared to its rivals.
It is priced in the range of Rs. 12.99 lakh to Rs. 17.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
"We are overwhelmed with the customer's response of more than 7817 enquiries and 405 bookings received for the all new Elantra. This reflects the strong customer connect and confidence on Hyundai products," Hyundai Motor India Managing Director and CEO YK Koo said in a statement.
The new Elantra is launched with the choice of 2.0-litre Dual VTVT petrol and 1.6 CRDi diesel engines. The petrol engine develops 150bhp and 196Nm of torque, while the diesel unit will belt out 126bhp and 265Nm of torque. Both the engines come coupled with the choice of manual and automatic transmission options.
The car flaunts signature chrome hexagonal grille along with HID headlamps and LED tail lamps. It also gets projector fog lamps, welcome function with door pocket light, chrome belt line and chrome outside door handles.
On the interior, it is loaded with auto cruise control, 3.5 inch mono TFT-LCD, voice recognition and tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel. The sedan also packs infotainment system with 8.0 inch touch screen- audio video navigation system (AVN), rear view camera, engine start/stop button, rear AC vents and electro chromic mirror.
