Taiwanese smartphone-maker, HTC, which is scheduled to launch the company flagship HTC U 11 (aka Ocean) later this month, has released new teaser revealing key camera feature.
In a short 9 seconds enticing video trailer, HTC shows a dirt bike racers circling around a person, who seem to be recording the video, then HTC adds from graphics having red concentric circles converging towards him, revealing that the upcoming HTC phone will be able to take 360-degree video. That's remarkable, there's no phone in the market that boasts this feature.
Mobile companies such as Samsung, LG and even HTC have launched stand-alone 360-degree camera devices, but this will be the first time, a smartphone will come with such game-changing camera hardware.
There is no word on the how the camera works, but we believe that HTC might have incorporated wide-angle cameras on both front and back, and with the help of software, the phone will be able to merge the video being recorded on the two cameras and play it back with 360-degree view.
