New details about the new Jazz from the house of Honda have emerged online, just a couple of weeks ahead of the launch of the upcoming premium hatchback.
The folks at Shifting Gears report that the new Honda Jazz will be launched in 12 trims in India; 7 will be petrol, including two automatic variants, and 5 diesel. We have known for some time now that the new Honda Jazz will be making its India debut in the first week of July. The company has already started teasing its 2015 Jazz on its official website and the bookings for the model are expected to begin soon.
While details about the pricing of new Jazz are still extremely limited, the latest report indicates that the new offering of Honda is likely to be priced within ₹7.1 lakh (ex-showroom). It has been said that Honda's new Jazz will get about 90 percent localisation in its new avatar.
Based on Honda's "Exciting H Design" philosophy, the new Honda Jazz premium hatchback will be squared off against Hyundai's Elite 20 and Maruti Swift in India.
Regarding the under the hood treatment, new Honda Jazz is expected to pack a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that powers Amaze and Brio that can generate power of 87bhp with a torque of 110Nm at 4,800rpm and a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel motor that can pump 100PS of power and 200Nm torque. The petrol version would come fitted with CVT and paddle shifters.
Previous spy shots of new Jazz have shown the interior of the model with touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, DVD/CD, USB and AUX-In connectivity, steering mounted controls and automatic climate control system.
