Rumour mills have been spinning for months with stories about Honda's new Jazz, which is scheduled to make its India debut in July. Now, the latest is that the bookings for the new Jazz are open in the country.
An earlier report had said that the official bookings would be open around 20 June. However, unofficial bookings of new Jazz are underway in the country. According to the report of Auto Car India, some dealers of Honda have started taking advance order for its upcoming new Jazz premium hatchback and prospective customers can now book their Jazz for an advance payment ranging from ₹30,000 - ₹50,000 depending on the variant.
Caught on camera numerous times already, the new Jazz is slated to break its cover in India on 8 July. Previous reports have said that the Jazz would be offered in 12 variants in the country. As for the under the hood treatment, the new Jazz is expected to be powered by 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that powers Amaze and Brio, and can generate power of 87bhp with a torque of 110Nm at 4,800rpm and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel motor. The diesel engine can pump 100PS of power and 200Nm torque.
Expected to aim squarely at the segment's current sellers like Hyundai Elite i20 and Maruti Swift, new Jazz is speculated to get a price tag of around ₹7.1 lakh (ex-showroom).
