It looks like things are working for Honda's new Jazz, which is scheduled to be launched in India on 8 July.
The company has received 2,336 bookings for its new Jazz, indicating that the premium hatchback in its new avatar has indeed many takers, thanks to its new style and design.
Under the hood, the new Jazz will get 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that powers Amaze and Brio, and can generate a power of 90bhp with a torque of 110Nm at 4,800rpm and a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel motor that can pump 100PS of power and 200Nm torque.
Likely to be priced at about ₹5.5 lakh, the new Honda Jazz will be offered in five variants (E, S, SV, V and VX), like City, in India.
In June 2015, Honda Cars India (HCIL) reported 13 percent increase in its domestic sales at 18,380 units. The company had sold 16,316 units in the same month last year.
The sales of Honda's small car Brio stood at 923 units, while Amaze and City recorded sales of 6,834 units and 7,187 units respectively.
Besides, Honda sold 57 units of CRV, its sports utility vehicle (SUV) and 1,043 units of its first MPV Mobilio.
