Here's some good news regarding the relaunch of the Accord sedan in India, a prototype of what is believed to be the new Accord has been spied undergoing testing in India. Honda seems to have started testing the new Accord in India.
Caught on camera by Team BHP, the latest spyshot shows a white coloured 2016 Accord model. Surprisingly, the prototype was seen without any hint of camouflage. Although Japanese auto major Honda has confirmed the relaunch of the Accord, the exact launch date is not yet known. It was being reported that Honda might bring the new Accord in India in this festive season. When launched, the Accord will rival Toyota Camry, Skoda Superb and the upcoming Volkswagen Passat.
The Accord was part of the Indian roads for almost 5 years since its entry into the market in 2008. It was later forced to retire from the sub-continent market owing to the poor sales and also due to the absence of diesel.
The new Accord is expected to be offered with 2.4-litre, 4-cylinder engine in India with 6-speed manual gearbox and a CVT. According to the original publisher of the photograph, Honda may also consider launching the Accord Hybrid in India to rival Toyota Camry Hybrid.
