Nexus 5 co-developers, Google and LG are reportedly shipping new models with minor physical improvements to fix some design flaws noticed in the early batch of the device released after the launch.
An Italian Nexus 5 owner, going by the moniker, infa99 affiliated with technology discussion forum XDA has claimed that the new model he received recently is a little different from the original, which were released last month.
The new model, features tightly fitted buttons on the sides as well as wider speaker grills for good audio output. He has released a series of pictures of old and the new Nexus 5 handsets placed side-by-side to show the differences. [To view the images, Click Here]
Apart from physical changes on the exterior, internal hardware components of the phone is said to remain same.
Though the report is running wild in the media, Nexus 5 developers, LG & Google are yet to acknowledge the reported physical changes made in the device.
This recent episode takes us back to March 2013, when LG did a similar exercise on the 2012-model Nexus 4. The company had re-released the phone with tweaks to its exterior shell by planting a couple of pointed bumps on the rear end for better grip on a slippery surface and also to provide a little lift from the platform to help phone speaker's sound to spread a little wider. Other noticeable change included re-positioned rear-side camera lens, which was moved closer to the edge, apparently to absorb more light to capture good-quality picture.
