South Korean car maker Hyundai has launched the next generation of Verna sedan in China after global debut at the Chengdu Motor Show in September. The new-generation Hyundai Verna comes with some major design and cosmetic changes along with a host of new features.
The current Verna model is one of the bestselling vehicles of Hyundai India and the new version is expected to be launched in India mid next year. We have compiled five major points you need to know about this new version.
-The new Verna has been carved out from the Verna concept unveiled at the Beijing International Automobile Exhibition in April with minor tweaks.
-As a part of Hyundai's new design language, the new Verna features new Cascading front grille after the first model, the i30 hatchback.
-2017 Verna measures 4,380mm in length, 1,728mm in width and 1,460mm in height meaning it is 5mm longer and 28mm wider than the outgoing model. New version is also a 30mm longer in wheelbase.
-The interior has been updated with all black upholstery. A large touch-screen is housed at the centre of dashboard, the layout of which has been inspired from the bigger sibling, the Elantra.
-The new Verna is offered in four engine options, 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre petrol and 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre diesel. The 1.4-litre petrol engine develops 104bhp while 1.6-litre petrol will churn out 121bhp. The 1.4-litre diesel will produce 89bhp, while the 1.6-litre diesel will belt out 127bhp of power. The transmission options will be a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic transmission.
