The first month of 2016 is going to be quite exciting for Indian auto enthusiasts in the country, as car-makers are gearing up for a product blitzkrieg. If the emerging reports are to be believed, US auto-major Ford will embark on its 2016 journey with the launch of its new Endeavour in January.
A report of AutoCar India claims that the new Ford Endeavour, the full-sized seven-seater will be launched in India on 20 January. The unofficial bookings for the new Endeavour are open in the country for a down payment of Rs 1 lakh.
Endeavour will be available in two TDCi diesel-engine options. The 2.2-litre engine develops 158bhp and 385Nm of torque, while the 3.2-litre engine develops 197bhp and 470Nm of torque. The former will be offered with the option of six-speed automatic and six-speed manual transmission in two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive. The latter will get only four-wheel-drive configuration with automatic transmission.
In terms of dimensions, the new Endeavour measures 4,892 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width and 1,837 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,850 mm and offers a ground clearance of 225 mm. The feature list of SUV includes steering mounted audio controls, Ford SYNC Infotainment system, eight-way power adjustable front seats, cruise control and rear parking sensor.
To be available in six variants and colours, the third-generation Endeavour is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 22-25 lakh. Once it hits the market, Endeavour will rival Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.
