A woman judge has filed a criminal complaint with the Delhi police after she allegedly was sexually assaulted by a lawyer inside the court, reports said.

The woman magistrate at a traffic court in New Delhi said that she was sexually harassed by the lawyer during the court hearing after she refused to grant relief to his client.

A case was registered under Sections 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions), 169 (public servant unlawfully buying or bidding for property), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his/her duty), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of IPC, said police.

In her complaint, the lady judge told police that the lawyer continued to hurl "filthy and abusive language" at her even after she adjourned the court disturbed by his behaviour, according to ANI.

An FIR has been registered at the Farsh Bazar police station in East Delhi, but the police, however, are yet to make any arrests.

The incident took place on 30 October when the lawyer appeared before the judge over a drunk driving case in which the police had impounded his client's vehicle.

After hearing the case, the drunk driver was asked to pay his fine. However, when the man arrived in the court with the money, the judge asked the man to deposit the fine the next day.

"I told her that she should follow the due process of law and an argument took place and she rudely asked me and my client to leave the court," the advocate, who is alleged to have sexually harassed the judge told PTI.

"The same day at 4 pm, I gave my complaint to the district judge and the bar association against the behaviour of the magistrate and when she came to know about it, she lodged a false case against against me with the police the next morning."
