One man died and at least 11 people were injured when a three-storey building collapsed in Sudarshan Park area of New Delhi's Moti Nagar on Wednesday morning.
The building collapsed at around 7:45 am after a cylinder exploded inside the building, in which 20-year-old Anand Shashinath lost his life.
"It was a three-storey building and collapsed after an explosion in a gas cylinder," a Delhi Fire Services official told IANS.
The 11 injured people, including one woman and three children, have been admitted to a nearby hospital, while the rescue team is looking for a child, believed to be trapped under the debris.
"Rescue operation is still on, but all the people have been evacuated from the spot and one child is feared to be trapped under the debris," police said.
Fire tenders have rushed to the spot to carry out rescue operation. Local residents are also assisting the fire fighters.
