The German car-maker BMW is set to bring the facelift of 3 Series Gran Turismo to India in October after rolling out the 3-Series facelift earlier this year. The 3 Series GT facelift will be launched in India on October 19.
The changes in the facelifted avatar of the 3 Series GT is minimal and is mainly the cosmetic add-ons. While the silhouette of the model remains untouched, the 3 Series GT gets reworked front and rear bumpers. It also gets LED headlamps and taillamps.
Other features in the 3 Series GT facelift include automatic climate control, keyless engine ignition, six airbags, LED front foglamps, a high-resolution colour screen with iDrive controller, a hands-free facility for phone calls with a USB port and Bluetooth audio streaming and a leather multifunction steering wheel. The updated Gran Turismo now gets extra chrome touch around the interior controls and the seating position has been raised by 59mm. BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo comes with the latest version of the BMW Navigation system Professional.
As far as the engine is concerned, the 3 Series GT in its new avatar is also expected to get 2.0-litre diesel engine, which can belt out 184bhp at 4,000rpm and a peak torque 380Nm at 1,750 - 2,750rpm.The transmission is taken care of by 8-speed Steptronic Automatic gearbox. There have also been reports that the company could also bring the petrol model as there is an increasing demand for the gasoline engine in the Indian market.
