Pune-based two-wheeler maker Bajaj Auto is on a spree of upgrading its range of models to BS-IV compliant engine. The company through its official Facebook handle revealed that the new Avenger range has been upgraded to BS-IV engine.
Although Bajaj had earlier confirmed that the company is gearing up for the launch of the new Pulsar series, the Avenger upgrade comes as a surprise. However, the changes are not updated on the website of the company. Bajaj has also not revealed which of the Avenger models will get BS-IV upgrade engine. Bajaj Avenger range includes three models -- Avenger Street 150, Avenger Street 220 and Avenger Cruise 220.
While Avenger Street 220 and Avenger Cruise 220 gets a 220cc single-cylinder four-stroke air-cooled engine that can churn out 19bhp at 8,400rpm and 17.5Nm of torque at 7,000rpm, the third in the line-up — Avengers Street 150 — gets 150 cc DTS-i air-cooled engine that is tuned to generate 13bhp and a maximum torque of 12.5Nm.
Avenger 220 Cruise and Avenger Street 220 are currently priced at Rs 87,331, whereas s the Avenger Street 150 goes for Rs 76,989 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Coming to the Pulsars, Bajaj is expected to update Pulsar 220F, Pulsar 180 and Pulsar 150 in India soon. Some of these models have also started arriving at the dealerships of the company and an official announcement of the launch is expected in coming days.
