It looks like the launch date of Bajaj's new Avenger editions has almost been confirmed, with the company started to send out invites for a 27 October press event.
Although the invite did not specify which of the Bajaj models that have been rumoured for the past couple of months will be launched on 27 October, general consensus is that the new models will be the Avenger series.
We have been hearing a lot about the upcoming Bajaj Avenger cruisers in recent times and the latest is that Bajaj will roll out three new editions of its Avenger motorcycles, namely Bajaj Avenger 220 Street, 220 Cruise and a 150cc variant. Although we are yet to see the 150cc version of Avenger, the other two -- Bajaj Avenger 220 Street and 220 Cruise -- have made their online appearances through spy shots.
From what we hear, Bajaj Avenger 220 Street and 220 Cruise will continue to be powered by the same 220cc single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled engine of the current one in the market. Currently, the cruiser Avenger draws power from a 220cc single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled engine sourced from Pulsar 220 capable of churning out 19bhp at 8,400rpm and 17.5Nm of torque at 7,000rpm.
There will be visual modifications from the current Avenger in the market on both Avenger 220 Street and 220 Cruise.
While the Avenger 220 Street and 220 Cruise is likely to have new paint job and graphics, the latter Avenger Street is expected to receive new black colour treatment.
Coming to the third, Bajaj Avenger 150, we hear the cruiser is likely to draw power from Bajaj Pulsar 150, which is 149cc 4-stroke, DTS-i, air cooled, single cylinder mill that has the capacity to develop 14.8bhp of power and 12.5Nm of torque.
