German luxury car manufacturer Audi launched it updated full size Q7 SUV for a price starting of Rs 72 lakh. The SUV is available in two variants -- Premium and Technology. The Technology is priced at Rs 77.5 lakh (both ex-showroom Mumbai and Delhi).
The new Q7 is powered by 3.0-litre, V6 diesel engine that produces 245bhp and 600Nm of torque, which enables the vehicle to break the 100kmph mark in 7.1 seconds and has a top speed of 230kmph. It has been mated to 8-speed tiptronic automatic transmission along with the Quattro all-wheel-drive technology.
The new Q7 is up to 325 kgs lighter than its predecessor and also comes with fuel efficiency of 14.75 kmpl. The SUV will ride 50 mm lower than the previous car and new 5-link suspension replaces the double wishbones. In addition, the air suspension will electronically adjust the height of the car, which can be increased to 60mm.
The SUV in its new form sheds the rounded body panels and gains more angular design. It features a new grille, newly designed headlamps, LED tail-lamps and tweaked bumpers at the front and back. The SUV is 37mm shorter and 15mm narrower than the previous car. Audi has increased 21mm between the first and second row of seats. Even with the third row in place, it still has a 295-litre boot. Once the third row seat tumbles down, it increases the boot space to 890-litres boot.
"India is a land of quattro, and SUVs owing to their high degree of functionality are the preferred choice of mobility here. The all-new audi Q7 encapsulates the cutting edge technology that is at the very heart of Audi brand. It is an efficient and sporty superlative offering, with even better dynamics than its predecessor", said Joe King, Head, Audi India.
