Audi India will launch its updated flagship SUV, the Q7, in a new avatar on 10 December. The SUV in its new form sheds the rounded body panels and gains more angular design. Audi claims that the new car sheds 325kg and adds more fuel efficiency.
The SUV features a new grille, newly designed headlamps, LED tail-lamps and tweaked bumpers at the front and back. The SUV car is 37mm shorter and 15mm narrower than the previous car. Audi has increased 21mm between the first and second row of seats. Even with the third row in place, it still has a 295 litre boot. Once the third row seat tumbles down, it increases 890 litres boot.
The Q7 will sport Audi's 3.0-litre, V6 diesel engine that produces 270bhp and 601Nm of torque that enables the vehicle to break the 100kmph mark in 6.3 second and has a top speed of 230kmph. There will be a 215bhp down tuned version on offer as well. The engine will be mated to a 8-speed automatic transmission along with the Quattro all-wheel-drive technology. The new Q7 will ride 50 mm lower than the previous car and new 5-link suspension replaces the double wishbones. In addition, the air suspension will electronically adjust the height of the car, it can be increased to 60mm.
The SUV will be sold with seven dynamic settings - efficiency, comfort, auto, dynamic, individual, allroad and lift/offroad and 19-inch wheels. The feature lists for the Q7 include Internet, rear seat entertainment with 3D surround sound.
The new Q7 will be sold as CBU initially and assembled at the company's Aurangabad plant for sale from early 2016.
