Netflix, which offers a palette of media content right from movies to original TV series on smart devices, has launched a dedicated mobile VR (Virtual Reality) application.
Netflix VR is currently available on Play store and is compatible with the Google's Daydream VR platform-based devices. This means, it will support only the Daydream View headset and the smart devices have to be running Android 7.0 Nougat. Only 0.4 percent of billion plus Android devices in the world, which includes Google Pixel phone series, Moto Z series and LG G5, Sony Xperia XZ and X Performance series, among others are compatible with Netflix VR.

Netflix VR offers the same media content as before, but the only difference is that it now supports 360-degree view and provides immersive viewing experience.
It is widely reported that Netflix plans to release new updates in coming days to support Samsung Gear VR and other platforms.
Just a few weeks ago, Netflix, for the first time allowed subscribers to download its contents for offline viewing. Netflix has a released a software update with this new feature to all the eligible devices.
