Even as the nation is in a state of a shock following the earthquake in Nepal and parts of India including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab on Saturday, 25 April, there are rumours of tremors being felt in Chennai, Mumbai and a few other places.

Social media users were in a state of panic after reading rumours of tremors being felt in Chennai Mumbai and a few other places. But there were also people who responded quickly that such rumours are false and requested rumour-mongers to desist from spreading rumours.
The high-intensity quake has struck Nepal, causing massive damage. Several buildings have been destroyed, while reports of casualties are yet to be confirmed.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) has upgraded the intensity to 7.9 on the Richter scale.
The early photos posted on Internet show many buildings have been reduced to piles of rubble. In India, the tremors were felt for about 45 to 60 seconds.
