Nargis Fakhri will now share screen space with none other than Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. The "Main Tera Hero" actress has been roped in to do an item song for Sajid Nadiadwala's debut directorial film "Kick" starring Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez.
Last week, Fakhri arrived on the sets for look tests and got selected for the item number. The makers want to give a visual treat to their audiences and hence many dancers are roped in for the item number.
The song will be shot on a lavish set in Mumbai with the actors wearing funny clothes. Choreographer Ahmad Khan will direct the item number which will also feature Khan.
"If all goes well, they will shoot the number in a week's time on a lavish set with the actors in funky costumes," a source told Mumbai Mirror.
Before Fakhri, Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif and "Heropanti" actress Kriti Sanon's names were being considered for the project.
Nadiadwala first approached Padukone for the song, but the "Chennai Express" actress denied it. While insiders believe that the reason behind not accepting the offer is Shah Rukh Khan and Salman's infamous rivalry, but sources close to the actress has said that the actress is busy with her upcoming films.
"She didn't sign the film, but now the makers want her to do an item number. Deepika's schedule is chock-a-block with other projects, but as of now, she has verbally agreed to do the song," Mid-Day earlier quoted a source as saying.
There were reports that Kaif will reunite with her ex-flame Khan for the item song. Sources said that the entire unit wanted Salman and Kaif to work together for the song. But Kaif's spokesperson denied the reports saying that they are baseless.
"The rumours are baseless. Katrina has not even been approached for any song in 'Kick.' She is currently busy wrapping up her three films for which she has been working non-stop," her spokesperson said, according to The Times of India.
However, Fakhri, who is on a roll in Bollywood as well as Hollywood, has now grabbed the offer to feature in the item song.
