Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi shocked their fans when they got married on May 10 in a hush-hush wedding ceremony according to Sikh rituals at a gurudwara in New Delhi. And it looks like the newly-weds are gearing up to announce Neha Dhupia's pregnancy.
Just days after their marriage, rumours started making the rounds of the tinsel town that Neha was pregnant before the wedding. It was being touted as the reason why the two decided to get married in such a hurry.
However, her dad Pradip Dhupia refuted the pregnancy reports and said that there is no such thing at all. "People will keep talking about things and spread rumors as per their wish," Dhupia was earlier quoted as saying by a Hindi daily.
He added that the couple married in a hurry because they had their respective work commitments to fulfil.
Neha Dhupia's husband Angad Bedi too had categorically denied the news when he was asked whether she was pregnant during the promotions of Soorma.
But now, a report in DNA has claimed that Neha is indeed expecting her first child and the couple is planning to make an official announcement soon when they are ready.
We texted Angad for clarification, but he remained unavailable for a comment. We are waiting for a response from him.
Neha and Angad had managed to maintain their marriage a secret away from the media and the glitzy world of Bollywood. The new bride had recently opened up about her marriage and said that it was Angad who proposed marriage to her four years ago but she rejected it since she was dating someone else at the time. But Angad, who didn't lose hope stuck around, and the actress finally said yes. She also revealed that Angad didn't propose to her but her parents.
Angad had never thought of settling down but his wedding to Neha happened to him beautifully. He also talked about having kids and striking a work-life balance.
"Work is important, but there is a life beyond that. Kids are an extension of you and it is important to raise them well. If that requires sacrifice, even professionally, then we will do it. The happiness of having a child cannot be matched by any number of zeroes on a cheque. So, you got to look at life from that perspective," Angad had said.
