Malayalam actor Neeraj Madhav was noticed by movie-goers after starring in Jeethu Joseph's blockbuster Mohanlal-starrer Drishyam, in which the 26-year-old played the role of the superstar's assistant Monichan. Since then, he has been a part of many hit movies making a mark in the industry.
Neeraj, who was last seen in a serious and notable role with Prithviraj Sukumaran in the revenge thriller Oozham, has announced his upcoming project. The actor has been roped in to play one of the lead roles in the Tom Emmatty directorial Oru Mexican Aparatha, which also stars Tovino Thomas and Roopesh Peethambaran in the lead roles.
"My next will be Oru Mexican Aparatha directed by Tom Emmatty and produced by Anoop Kannan. Glad to be able to do one of the lead roles with my brother Tovino Thomas [sic]," Neeraj posted on his Facebook page. "We both started our acting career almost during the same time. We often discuss about the variety roles we would like to do. The next movie becomes an exciting project as it marks the association of two individuals who are passionate about acting along with a director who have a clear political views and another director who turns as a producer. Apart from all this, Chacko master's son who absconded years ago is coming back in a different avatar. This is a common man's story [translated from Malayalam]," writes Neeraj on his social media page.
The upcoming movie, set in the backdrop of a college in the 1970s, narrates the story of how students established the political party Students Federation of India (SFI) at Maharajas college campus in Kochi. While Tovino plays the lead role, Roopesh will be seen as the antagonist, who is the leader of Kerala Students Union (KSU).
