Electronic Sports (EA) has showcased a launch video, celebrating the release of its racing video game Need for Speed: Rivals on PlayStation 4 on 15 November, when the console was released in the US.
The new video is an impressive more-than-a-minute clip that shows a chasing scene between a racer and cop. This game follows the tradition set by previous Need for Speed titles. Frostbite 3 engine powers the graphics and the fast-paced nature of the video game.
Rivals is the only racing game that was released at the launch of PlayStation 4 console, after DriveClub was delayed.
Rivals has been designed to allow players to play as both cop and racer. It will feature some exotic cars, along with high-speed police chases. It has eleven gadgets that can be upgraded like EMPs, shockwavers and more.
The game also includes features that are similar to its predecessors, including jumps, traps, unlockable cars and shortcuts that are unavailable in the map. This open-world game takes place in a fictional location called Redview County.
Since the game allows players to take on the role of cops or racers, it has full career progression for both of them. When playing a cop, a player has the option of playing three types of career modes - patrol, enforcer or as undercover.
Completion of objectives will unlock more items. Autolog system from previous games is also present in the game. The game also features new social system called AllDrive.
The game will be released on 19 November for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Xbox One version will be released with the console on 22 November.
