The new "NCIS" season 12 spoiler scoop has suggested that Ziva David aka Cote De Pablo will be replaced by a new girl. It seems Tony DiNozzo is going to have a new girl in his life after David left him in the previous season.
Apparently, DiNozzo's relationship with the new woman will be completely different.
"The trick will be casting somebody where the chemistry [with Michael Weatherly] is there, but we're excited about the opportunity," show creator Gary Glasberg told TV Line. "We'll give it a shot and see what we can do."
Previously, Glasberg had suggested that he would not make DiNozzo rush into something as far as moving on from David is concerned, adding that he would take his own sweet time to come to terms with life sans David.
"I'm curious to see what's next for him in his personal life, but we're not going to rush into anything," show-runner Glasberg had told the Website, adding, "Much like a real relationship, it takes time to recover and to figure out what's next, and the one thing we're really trying to do is approach this from the standpoint of as if it's real. You have to give people" – the audience included – "time to 'mourn' and deal with their feelings, and then re-embrace why they watch NCIS."
However, recent reports hinted that David might return in season 12. It was reported that DiNozzo might risk his life to save David in the first episode of upcoming season but it seems nothing of that sort will happen.
Meanwhile, younger version of Dr. Donald Mallard will be introduced in season 12. Younger Dr Mallard, also known as Ducky, will be played by "Mixology" star Adam Campbell.
"When wed saw Adam, all we could think of was a young David McCallum," executive producer Gary Glasberg told the Website. "We can't wait to introduce him as young Ducky and watch what he brings to this unusual role."
"NCIS" Season will premiere on Sept. 23. The flashback episode of Ducky will be the third episode as per the reports. "NCIS" Season 12 Episode 1 will be called "20 Clicks, while Episode 2 might be called "Kill the Messenger".
