Oklahoma City Thunder continued their impressive form in the NBA this season, with their fourth straight NBA win against the formidable Los Angeles Clippers, who suffered their first loss on Wednesday. Chicago Bulls, on the other hand, after winning their first three, suffered defeat to Boston Celtics.
Prior to the match, the focus were on two star players, Russell Westbrook (Thunder) and Blake Griffin (Clippers), and the former was brilliant during the night to help his team win 85-83 in a close encounter. Westbrook top-scored for the Thunder with 35 points, and he was the only player from his team in double figures, which explains his domination.
For the Clippers, Griffin and Paul looked good, combining 29 points, but the brilliance of Westbrook was too much for the Clippers to handle.
Right from the first quarter, it was a close contest, with Clippers outscoring Thunder by just a point. At the end of the third quarter, the score read in favour of Clippers 66-65, but a solid display from the visitors helped them outscore Clippers 20-17, leading to a final scoreline of 85-83.
The other match between the Bulls and Celtics was also quite close, with the latter winning it 107-100.
The Bulls had come into this match against Celtics in a confident mood, but were outdone by the brilliance of Amir Johnson and Isaiah Thomas, with the duo scoring 23 points each in the contest. Besides Johnson and Thomas, other players like Jae Crowder and Avery Bradley also contributed with double digits to help them defeat the Bulls.
The Bulls, despite some solid performance from Jimmy Butler, Dwayne Wade and Rajon Rondo, could not win their fourth straight match in the NBA. The Bulls were pegged down right from the first quarter where they scored 25 compared to Celtics' 36, and the home team looked confident as the game progressed.
Nevertheless, with players like Wade and Buttler, the Bulls are always going to be a threat this season, and they will hope to get back to their winning ways when they face New York Knicks on Friday.
