Boston Celtics suffered yet another defeat in preseason as Minnesota Timberwolves beat them 104-89.
Kevin Love led the Wolves with 22 points and nine rebounds. The game was played in Montreal as part of the NBA Canada Series 2013. Kevin Martin also starred for Wolves with 21 points and five rebounds.
Timberwolves brought in Martin from Oklahoma during the off-season and the move is already looking like a steal for them. He scored five out of eight from the 3-point range and impressed during the game.
"He's a 20-point-a-night guy who showed throughout this pre-season what he can do," said Love of Martin."It's a really tough guard when you have a guy like Kevin Martin who's so fast and can get open, runs the break, can shoot the ball from distance. He only needs a split-second."
"We're getting more acclimated with each other each day that goes by," said Martin. "I'm very hopeful for the season. We have a good team here. We have high expectations for ourselves as a team. We expect to win games."
For Celtics, Gerald Wallace scored 16 points and made three assists. Celtics now have the second worst record in preseason. They have just won one game in their seven preseason matches.
Boston are rebuilding after trading Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce during off-season. They are also missing Rajon Rondo, who underwent a knee surgery in February. Celtics also brought in rookie coach Brad Stevens as a part of their rebuilding program. They will be expecting a change of fortunes when they take on Toronto in their first game of the season on 30 October.
