There is a new playable character in NBA 2K15 and it is the former Baylor Bears player, Isaiah Austin, announced 2k Games.
Austin was supposed to be a "top pick in NBA Draft in June." But he had to abruptly end his career with NBA due to a health condition, howeve,r he will be making his entrance in the NBA 2K15 video game.
Austin was diagnosed with Marfan syndrome, a genetic disorder that affects the connective tissue. The diagnosis happened less than a week before the NBA Draft, and he had go into retirement or would have risked rupturing of his major arteries, Polygon reported.
He was, however, promised a job with league after his completion of college degree by Adam Silver, NBA commissioner. He was also invited to attend the Draft.
"As announced by @kingjames, 2K is proud to have Isaiah Austin join #NBA2K15 in free agency pool & as first MyTEAM Emerald card," said a post on the official Instagram page.
2K Games will be updating him in its regular roster update that happens every week. He will be accessible to players in the gameplay mode using the roster file.
The Baylor Bears player had to undergo facial scanning at the NBA 2K studios to be part of the video game. He will be seen in this week's episode of NBA2K TV.
In 2013, Austin was selected to the Big 12's all-freshman team and in 2014, he was a member of all-defensive team. He had also won the 2013 National Invitation Tournament.
NBA 2K15 was released on 7 October 2014 for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
