Nawazuddin Siddiqui has landed in a legal trouble. The actor's sister-in-law has filed a complaint with Uttar Pradesh Police against the actor and his family alleging dowry harassment.
The woman, who is three months pregnant, has alleged that Nawazuddin's family tortured her for dowry and forced her to leave the house. In the police complaint, she has also said that Nawazuddin kicked her in the stomach when she refused to leave the house.
However, the Freaky Ali actor has denied the allegations and said that his brother's wife is doing it for publicity. Nawazuddin has defended himself by releasing the CCTV footage of the incident, which took place on September 28.
Explaining the footage, the actor said that the real culprit behind this is his sister-in-law's uncle and his wife.
"I am just contradicting all the allegations that have been made against me. I'm falsely charged by my sister-in-law because I am a soft target for her. She wants to get publicity from all this," Nawazuddin was quoted as saying by the Hindustan Times.
"I'm an actor, so that could also be a reason for her allegations. Had it happened with a common man, it would not have made headlines," he added.
Talking about hitting the woman in her stomach, Nawazuddin said that he has not even touched her and the CCTV footage is the proof to it.
A team of officers from a police station in Muzaffarnagar are probing the case.
