In a rather unnerving incident, a Dornier aircraft of the Indian Navy crashed off the Goa coast on Tuesday night. It was on a routine training mission with three personnel on board.
A pilot and an observer are missing even though one officer, Commander Joshi, was rescued by fishermen, reports The Times of India.
"One survivor has been rescued. Search is on to locate two more officers including a pilot and observer," navy sources said, reports India Today.
The crash took place about 25 nautical miles south west of Goa, reports NDTV.
The last contact with the aircraft was reported at 10.08 pm.
A full scale rescue operation is currently under way with more than six warships and a few aircraft involved in the operation.
