The makers of The Kapil Sharma Show have refuted reports of Navjot Singh Sidhu quitting the show. On Thursday, Preeti Simoes, the creative head of The Kapil Sharma Show, took to her Twitter handle to dismiss the rumours.
"There's no notice served by Sidhu sir to Sony. A reaction on this issue is unnecessary. All propaganda that he's leaving is false. Thnx, [sic]" she tweeted.
The news of the cricketer-turned-politician quitting The Kapil Sharma Show started making buzz after Sidhu's wife Navjot Kaur confirmed to a news channel that Sidhu would now focus on the upcoming assembly election in Punjab.
"Sidhu will now completely focus on Punjab politics. And that is why he has recorded all the shows till September 30 and has already said goodbye to the cast," Kaur was quoted as saying by ABP Live. In fact, the report said that Sidhu has already wrapped up his shoot for Kapil Sharma's show.
However, with the makers of The Kapil Sharma Show quashing the reports, fans of show can finally heave a sigh of relief.
The Kapil Sharma Show has consistently been the top-rated show under the non-fiction category in the Television Rating Points (TRPs) charts. The entire team of the comedy show has become an integral part of the show and reports of any member leaving will surely disappoint millions of fans worldwide.
This is not the first time that reports of the former cricketer quitting the show has surfaced. A few months ago, Sidhu had made headlines when he resigned as a Rajya Sabha member and soon after rumours of him taking an exit from the show had also surfaced. Back then, Preeti refuted the rumours claiming that Sidhu was very much a part of the show.
