"Sardaar Gabbar Singh", "Nannaku Prematho", "Bhramotsavam", "Sarainodu", "Dictator", "Express Raja", "Soggade Chinni Nayana", "Oopiri", "Mahadeva" and "Baahubali 2" are some of the most talked about and awaited Telugu movies of 2016.
Nannaku Prematho: This action family drama film has been written and directed by Sukumar and produced by BVSN Prasad under his Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra banner. The movie features Junior NTR and Rakul Preet Singh in the lead roles, while Jagapati Babu and Rajendra Prasad are in pivotal roles. Devi Sri Prasad has composed the music, while Vijay C Chakravarthy has handled camera work for the film, which will hit the screens on 13 January as a Sankranthi treat.
Dictator: Balakrishna's 99th movie "Dictator" has been directed by Sriwass and jointly produced by Eros International and Sriwass under the banner Vedhaaswa Creations. Anjali and Sonal Chauhan are in female leads in the movie, which has S Thaman's music and Shyam K Naidu's camera work. The film is slated to release in cinema halls on January 14 as a Sankranthi treat.
Express Raja: The Sharwanand and Surabhi-starrer romantic entertainer has been directed by Merlapeka Gandhi and produced by UV Creations. The film, which has Praveen Lakkaraju's music and Karthik Ghatamaneni's cinematography, is scheduled to release in theatres as a Pongal treat on 14 January.
Soggade Chinni Nayana: Directed by Kalyan Krishna, "Soggade Chinni Nayana" is touted to be a family entertainer starring Akkineni Nagarjuna, Ramya Krishnan and Lavanya Tripathi. Produced under the banner Annapurna Studios, the film is set to release on 15 January.
Oopiri: Director Vamsi Paidipally's bilingual movie "Oopiri", which has been made in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously, features Akkineni Nagarjuna, Karthi and Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead roles. Gopi Sunder has composed the music for the film, which is slated for release on 26 February.
Sardaar Gabbar Singh: Pawan Kalyan, who was last seen in "Gopala Gopala", is set to return to the big screen with "Sardaar Gabbar Singh", which is slated to hit the screens on 8 April. The movie has KS Ravindra as director and is being jointly produced by Pawan Kalyan and Sharrath Marar. Kajal Aggarwal is playing the female lead in the film, for which Devi Sri Prasad is composing songs and the background score.

It is the second collaboration between the actor and the director. They had previously collaborated on the family drama '"eethamma Vakitlo Srimalle Chettu". "Brahmotsavam" is scheduled to release on 29 April.
Mahadeva: Superstar Rajinikanth's Tamil mob film "Kabali", written and directed by Pa Ranjith, will be dubbed and released in Telugu as "Mahadeva". The film also features Radhika Apte, Kishore, Kalaiyarasan, Dhansika and Dinesh Ravi. The makers have not announced its release date, but it is likely to hit the screens by the end of the year.
