'Nannaku Prematho' 16 day box office collection: Jr NTR film joins club of Rs 50-crore movies

Junior NTR's "Nannaku Prematho" has done decent business at the worldwide box office in the second week. It has joined the club of Telugu movies that have earned more than Rs 50 crore.

"Nannaku Prematho" grossed Rs 68.50 crore at the worldwide box office in the nine-day extended first week, and earned a share of Rs 44.86 crore to its distributors. Since there was no new release from Tollywood after that, trade analyst predicted the movie would do well at the box office and join the Rs 50-crore club in its second weekend.

But the Sukumar-directed family drama witnessed a huge drop in collection on its second Friday. Besides snatching some screens, Bollywood movies "Airlift" and "Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3" took a toll on its business everywhere. "Nannaku Prematho" showed growth on Saturday, but was not up to the mark. Its business further dipped on weekdays, except on 26 January — Republic Day.

"Nannaku Prematho" has collected approximately Rs 11.02 crore gross at the worldwide box office in the second week. Its 16 day total gross collection stands at Rs 79.52 crore. In its second week, the movie has added Rs 5.24 crore to the total share of its distributors Rs 50.10 crore.

Made on a budget of Rs 50 crore, "Nannaku Prematho" has fetched Rs 54 crore from its theatrical rights. It has become the all time highest grosser film in the career of Junior NTR. But it is yet to recover Rs 4 crore to its distributors. It will return this amount in its third week, but its business will be affected by the new releases "Kalavathi", "Seethamma Andalu Ramayya Sitralu" and "Lacchimdeviki O Lekkundi".
