Renowned politician Nandamuri Harikrishna, the son of legendary NT Rama Rao and the father of superstar Jr NTR, died in a road accident on Wednesday. The former transport minister of Andhra Pradesh was driving his car to attend a wedding ceremony at Kavali in Nellore district.
The car crashed into the road meridian on the Nalgonda Highway causing serious head injuries to the politician. As the news spread grief all around the state, many people have started thinking that road accidents are slowly turning out to be a curse for the Nandamuri family. The death of Nandamuri Janakiram
On December 6, 2014, Nandamuri Janakiram, the son of Harikrishna, had died in a car accident. The accident took place when Janakiram was travelling to Vijayawada from Hyderabad in his luxury vehicle. Janakiram, who lost control over the vehicle, had rammed it into a tractor at Akupamula village in Nalgonda district.
Jr NTR's road accident in 2009
In 2009, superstar Jr NTR too had met with a car accident. The incident happened at Mote village near Suryapet on May 27. The SUV in which NT Rama Rao Jr was travelling turned turtle while negotiating a dangerous curve. The actor had sustained minor injuries on his head, hands and ribs. A minor surgery was also performed on Jr NTR to resolve a minor fracture in the spine.
The two fatal blows are expected to negatively impact the Nandamuri family in the coming days, both politically and emotionally. It should be noted that Nandamuri Harikrishna was one of the strongest political pillars in the family since the death of NT Rama Rao, and this untimely demise will surely create a void in the state's political map.
