Actor Nandamuri Balakrishna's wife Vasundhara was reportedly caught carrying Rs 10 lakh worth of old currency notes at the Renigunta airport on Saturday night (December 3).
Balakrishna's wife Vasundhara was going to Tirupathi along with six other member from her family. She was to board the Spice jet airlines from Hyderabad to Renigunta airport, when the officials found huge amount of old currency notes in her bag during the regular check on Saturday night.
When the Airport officials quizzed her on the money, Vasundhara reportedly produced the IT documents related to the money. She told them that she was carrying the moeny to offer to lord Venkateshwara in Tirupathi. She confirmed them that it was not black money.
Later, the officials let her and other members to continue to their journey. Box Office Updates tweeted: "IT officials shock to #Balakrishna wife #Vasundhara and other family members - who were caught at #renigunta airport with 10L old currency. #Balakrishna wife #Vasundhara were let off by IT officials as they informed that they were carrying cash to offer to Lord Venkateswara."
However, Nandamuri Balakrishna scored a hit with his 99th movie Dictator, which was released as Sankranthi treat in January in 2016. The actor is gearing up to treat his fans coming Sankranthi with his 100th movie Gautamiputra Satakarni, which is set to hit screens on 12 Janury 2017.
Gautamiputra Satakarni is an epic historical action film, which is is based on life history of 2nd century CE, Satavahana ruler Gautamiputra Satakarni. Krish has written the script and directed the movie, which produced by Saibabu Jagarlamudi and Y Rajeev Reddy. Balakrishna is playing the title role, while Shriya Saran appears in the female lead.
