Controversial Bharatiya Janata Party MP Subramanian Swamy on Tuesday said that Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Najeeb Jung is unsuitable for his post. He also recommended that a member of Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh be given the post.
"In my opinion, this LG of Delhi Mr. Jung is unsuited for this high post. He is another 420 like Kejri. We need a Sangh person in Delhi [sic]," he tweeted on Tuesday.
Jung and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal have been involved in turf war over who has administrative power in Delhi. In a recent incident, Jung transferred many senior officials who were involved in many projects by the Aam Aadmi Party. Kejriwal blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi as being "hell bent" to "destroy" Delhi.
Modi had rapped Swamy in June for making Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley the target of his barbs. Modi had said that comments on senior finance ministry members were "inappropriate." Swamy had also targeted Chief Economic Adviser Arvind Subramaniam and Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das.
Another victim of his criticism, Reserve Bank of India Governor Raghuram Rajan has stepped down from his position and signed his last major report on Tuesday as the RBI governor.
If anybody considers himself above the system then it is wrong," Modi had said.
