Directed by Veerabhadram Chowdary of "Poolarangadu" fame, "Bhai" is deemed as an action-comedy entertainer with all the commercial elements needed for a successful film.
"With catchy one-liners, drama, songs, comedy sequences and stunning action shot in different exotic locales, my film is a popcorn entertainer. The concoction of commercial elements makes it a film everybody would love to watch," Nagarjuna was once quoted as saying by The Times of India.
According to reports, the comedy quotient in the film is expected to be one of the highlights. The pre-release buzz for "Bhai" has been positive and the film is expected to take a fantastic opening on the first day as there are no other big releases. Ram Gopal Varma's "Satya 2" (Telugu version) was announced to hit the screens on the same day as "Bhai." However, the film's release has been delayed further to 8 November.
"Bhai" will have a solo big release tomorrow (25 October). The film's premiere shows will be on 24 October in the US.
It remains to be seen if "Bhai" will be able to break records created by Pawan Kalyan's "Attarintiki Daredi" (AD), which is on the verge of becoming the new industry hit in Telugu cine field. Post the release of "AD", two biggies including Jr NTR's "Ramayya Vastavayya" (RV) and Vishnu Manchu's "Doosukeltha" hit the screens.
Of the two, "RV" was highly-anticipated to cross "AD" collections on the first day. But the film failed to live up to the expectations of the audience and turned out to be an average grosser. One needs to wait a little longer to find if "Bhai" will able to achieve what "RV" couldn't.
The film would be Nag's second release this year. The actor's romantic drama "Greeku Veerudu" hit the screens in May and turned out to be a box office success. The film successfully completed 50 days in several theatres across India. If "Bhai" performs well, it will be Nag's second hit of the year.
The action-comedy entertainer has been produced by Nagarjuna under his Annapurna Studios banner, in association with Reliance Entertainment. Actress Richa Gangopadhyay plays the female lead opposite Nagarjuna. "Bhai" is reportedly her last Telugu film as the actress has taken a break from cinema and gone to the US to pursue her studies.
The other cast members in the film includes Sonu Sood, Rahul Dev, Brahmanandam, Ashish Vidyarthi and Jayaprakash Reddy in pivotal roles. Film's cinematography is handled by Sameer Reddy and its music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad.
