Telugu actor Akkineni Nagarjuna and his sons Naga Chaitanya and Akhil have taken the vow to spread awareness on Swachh B harat through collaboration and inclusiveness.
Nagarjuna was nominated by Anil Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Group, as his ambassador to spread the Swachh Bharat campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Along with his sons, the actor took to the street to carry out his commitment to strengthen the movement on Sunday morning near Annapurna Studios.
As part of the challenge, Nagarjuna nominated nine ambassadors to spread awareness on a clean India and to take the campaign forward. The nominees include Major Shiva Kiran, Syed Mazhar Hussain, Krithiga Reddy, Mujeeb Khan, Pullela Gopichand, Allu Arjun, Sudeep and his fans.
In a statement released to IBTimes, Nagarjuna said, "This is not an act of one time event, it is a translation of my pledge to keep neighbourhood clean, create many more ambassadors and collaborate with like minded people across the region to expand and sustain #SwachhBharat movement."
Nagarjuna urged his fans to use of litter bins and take time to clean garbage on the streets to keep the surroundings hygienic. Meanwhile, the actor also unveiled www. nag4SwachhBharat .org , a website to spread awareness and engage public participation and support.
Talking about the website, Nagarjuna, who has several followers on Twitter and Facebook, said, "It will also use the ever powerful social media platforms and leverage his million facebook and twitter followers to create micro level ambassadors and create #Swachhbharat events."
Akkineni family, which is one among five filmy families in Tollywood, boasts of huge fan base in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Akkineni family heroes Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya and Akhil's involvement in the campaign of Swachh B harat Abhiyan is expected to bring about a great change in both the states.
