While some viewers might believe that lovebirds Rithvik Dhanjani and Asha Negi would make perfect hosts, producer Ekta Kapoor feels that Rithvik and Karan Patel will be good together on-screen.
And thus Rithvik reportedly turned down the offer to co-host "Indian Idol Junior" with girlfriend Asha to become a part of Ekta Kapoor's dance reality show.
Apparently, the "Pavitra Rishta" actor had auditioned for "Nach Baliye 7" and "Indian Idol Junior", but since the makers of the latter show approached him first he accepted the offer.
"His audition was good, but the makers took time to finalise him because Ekta Kapoor was looking at other options. But later she felt that he would make the perfect co-host with Karan. The team then called Rithvik, who said that he had given his nod to the other show. But when they told him that Ekta wanted him on board, he immediately agreed. He couldn't say no to Ekta," DNA quoted a source as saying.
Rithvik will now share the stage with Ekta Kapoor's blue-eyed boy and "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein" actor Karan.
The show will air on Star Plus and as of now the makers have confirmed author Chetan Bhagat as the new judge of the reality show. Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and director Sajid Khan have bid adieu to the show.
Meanwhile, fans of Rithvik and Asha will get to see their favourite star couple sharing "Nach Baliye" stage again. Rithvik and Asha, who are the winners of last season, will perform at the opening ceremony of the reality show.
