After writing screenplays for blockbusters, Bollywood's favourite author Chetan Bhagat has moved to judging dance reality show 'Nach Baliye 7'.
His decision to take up a project so unrelated to his profession didn't go down well with the Twitterati. However, explaining his decision to judge the show, Chetan shared a lengthy post on Facebook.
Calling it a 'risk', the author said he wishes to connect with people at a deeper level, adding the show gives him an opportunity to reach out to a larger audience.
"Well, I am no dance expert! However, the show format has changed and apart from dance, there will be a lot of emphasis on couple chemistry, compatibility and team work. I will be focusing more on the latter parts. Also, as a motivation speaker, I hope I will be able to inspire the participants as well," he wrote.
Chetan also pointed out since he is focusing on films now, the format of "Nach Baliye 7" will help him guide in that direction. "Apart from that, I am also more involved in films now, where apart from storytelling, song and dance forms a big part. Being familiar with those forms will only help me get better as far as films are concerned," he wrote.
The popular author signed off saying he wouldn't be truthful if he didn't take risks. "It could really work or I could end up making a fool of myself. And that is a little scary. However, in almost all my talks, I tell people to take risks. If I don't do the same myself, I won't be being true to my word."
Meanwhile, a bunch of stars have already been approached for the show but there's been no official confirmation yet.
Barun Sobti-Pashmeen Manchanda, Upen Patel-Karishma Tanna, Praneet Bhat-Kanchan, Rashami Desai-Nandish Sandhu, Salman Yusuf Khan-Faiza Haramain, Rajat Tokas-Srishti Nayyar and Himanshoo Malhotra-Amruta Khanvillkar are some of the names.
