Colors' weekend show "Naagin", which has Arjun Bijlani (Ritik), Mouni Roy (Shivanya) and Adaa Khan (Sesha) in lead roles, has been ruling the TRP charts since it went on air.
However, according to latest reports, the popular supernatural show might go off air soon. "Naagin", which is supposed to be a finite series, is likely to telecast its last episode on 14 May.
"The show was already a finite series and was supposed to go off air in January but due to its immense popularity and amazing response, the show got extended till May," a source told India Forums.
When Arjun was asked about the show going off air, he said: "I have no clue about the last on air date but the show was a finite series. Hence, it was any ways supposed to go off air."
With the hugely watched show coming to an end, it is likely that the makers are mulling over a new season.
Earlier, Mouni had told Asian Age that she feels that the show might return with another season. "We weren't expecting such a huge response. And thanks to that, maybe our show will return with another season. I think what works for the show is its supernatural theme. That breaks the saas-bahu clutter. There is definitely an audience for the supernatural, which is why the Twilight series is such a hit. But the concept had not been explored on Indian TV, until now."
"Naagin" grabbed the top position with a whopping 4.4 points in the first week of 2016, leaving behind popular daily soaps like Star Plus' "Saath Nibhaana Saathiya" and "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein".
