Colors' weekend show "Naagin" that has Arjun Bijlani (Ritik), Mouni Roy (Shivanya) and Adaa Khan (Sesha) in lead roles has turned out to be the viewers' favourite. The supernatural show has been ruling the TRP charts since the beginning.
With such huge response, Mouni -- who plays the central character -- feels that the show might return with another season.
"We weren't expecting such a huge response. And thanks to that, maybe our show will return with another season. I think what works for the show is its supernatural theme. That breaks the saas-bahu clutter. There is definitely an audience for the supernatural, which is why the Twilight series is such a hit. But the concept had not been explored on Indian TV, until now," Mouni told Asian Age.
Talking about her character Shivanya, which has become the viewers' favourite, the talented actress said: "My character by no means is a regular girl. So I had no reference points. But just because it is supernatural, that doesn't mean one needs to go overboard. So I have tried to deliver a restrained performance. The idea is to keep her real and relatable at least in some aspects."
Although Mouni and Arjun are working together for the first time, the actors have been friends for a long time, which the actress believes works in their favour while portraying their on-screen chemistry.
"Although it's our first show together, Arjun and I have known each other a long time. When you work with someone new, it takes some time to understand their style of working and so it takes some time to get along. Since we were friends already, it made things easier for both of us," Mouni told the daily.
"Naagin" grabbed the top position with a whopping 5.2 points in last week's TRP rating charts, leaving behind popular daily soaps like Star Plus' "Saath Nibhaana Saathiya" and "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein".
