Ekta Kapoor's Naagin 2, which is set to hit the small screen from Saturday, October 8 onwards, has landed in a trouble. Director Santram Verma, who had helmed the first season of the hugely successful supernatural show, has backed out of the new season.
Apparently, Verma chose to walk out of Naagin sequel, not because of any issues with the cast of the new season but for another actor Rajat Tokas. According to SpotboyE report, Rajat, who was a part of Naagin, had a tiff with the director during the show and both had expressed their reservations of not working together when the second instalment of the supernatural series was announced.
However, when Ekta approached Verma to helm her new upcoming historical show Chandra Nandini, which has Rajat in lead role, the director decided to put his differences with Rajat aside but the actor was adamant on not working with him. Rajat gave Ekta an ultimatum of either working with him or Verma. Not wanting to lose Rajat, probably because of his massive popularity, the TV czarina decided to replace Verma with Anil V Kumar.
This didn't go down well with Verma who shares a good relationship with Ekta and with whom he had worked on several episodes of hit shows like Kyunki Saans Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kasautii Zindagi Kay, Kahiin To Hoga. Disappointed with Ekta's decision, Verma chose not to direct Naagin 2 as well. It now remains to be seen if Naagin 2 will be able to create the same magic without Verma?
Meanwhile, the director has joined hands with Cinevista head honcho Siddharth Malhotra, who has offered him four shows. When the entertainment portal contacted Verma, he chose not to talk about why he decided to opt out of Naagin 2 but confirmed his association with Cinevista. "I don't know how many shows I will get from Cinevistaa, but yes i am setting up the stage for my first one with them to roll very soon," Verma said.
