Mouni Roy, who is currently playing the lead role in Ekta Kapoor's Naagin 2, recently spoke about her character and the success of the first season of the supernatural show.
Talking about the pressure to live up to the viewers' expectation of Naagin 2, Mouni told Tellychakkar.com: "More than pressure, it's expectation. We are doing everything we can. We don't realise the pressure as we have been working hard. There is no time to worry. I thank my director Anil V Kumar for getting the best out of us."
Recently, there were reports that director Santram Verma, who had helmed the first season of the hugely successful supernatural show, has backed out of the new season due to certain issues. Mouni, however, finds herself to be fortunate to have worked with Santram, who is one of the biggest names of the industry.
"Santram is a task master and knows how to get the best out of you. He is a disciplined person when it comes to shooting. We don't go to the sets to make personal relationships, but to work. At the end of the day, he makes sure to create a bank of episodes. I am fortunate to have worked with the biggest names of the industry," Mouni added.
The actress also spoke about how she and her co-stars used to find the script of Naagin funny. "Frankly speaking, we used to laugh every single time. But at the end, we got good numbers," she said.
Naagin 2 has Mouni playing a double role, one of mother (Shivanya) and the other of her daughter (Shivangi). Karanvir Bohra essays the lead role opposite Mouni. Adaa Khan and Sudha Chandran are reprising their roles of Sesha and Yamini, respectively. Aashka Goradia, who entered the show in the finale of the first season, also plays a pivotal role in Naagin 2.
