A set of photographs taken by a NASA satellite apparently depicts an unknown blue celestial object travelling in front of the Sun. The sightings have led to imaginative rumours on social media, but experts say it could be "corrupt images" due to the image processor being overloaded, Russia Today reported.
The 'celestial body' was spotted on November 15 and is claimed to be an unidentified flying object (UFO). "It certainly does look exceptional and I'm stumped," YouTube user mrfaithandphysics was quoted as saying by the Mirror.
"I'd say rogue planet, but we don't see it moving and then it's gone," he added.
Another per stated: "I have downloaded the images from SECCHI HI1 and this is strange."
A Facebook user named Pamela Johnson also posted several images and stated that the sphere led to a reaction in the Sun before it disappeared, Daily Mail reported.
This 'UFO' was first captured by NASA'S SECCHI STEREO HI1 satellite on November 15. However, not everyone accepts the theory. "Ok if you ask me, NASA would never be so careless to allow something like this to reach the public," another YouTube user named Mike Sovereign said.
Last week, a similar UFO sighting had left people stunned in Liverpool. A couple of mysterious objects were spotted flying in tandem in the sky. It was captured on camera and uploaded to YouTube.
The video shows that the objects, speculated to be of alien origin, are flying parallel to one another. As of now, no one has explained the sighting.
