Myanmar's Foreign Minister and State Councillor Aung San Suu Kyi met President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday morning at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. She then went on to meet External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
On Monday, Aung San Suu Kyi had met Congress president Sonia Gandhi at her residence in New Delhi on Monday. Suu Kyi drove to Gandhi's residence and is believed to have spent some time discussing measures to strengthen ties between India and Myanmar. Congress leader Karan Singh was also present during the meeting.
Suu Kyi, who is on a four-day trip to India, has also met President Pranab Mukherjee and Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj. She also visited Rajghat to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.
This is Suu Kyi's first visit to India after becoming the state counsellor. She is accompanied by several ministers and senior officials.
Suu Kyi is visiting India on the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with whom she is scheduled to hold talks on bilateral and regional issues.
Suu Kyi's party National League for Democracy came to power as Myanmar's first democratically elected government in March to end five decades of military rule in the country.
