After setting up its first showroom in Pune in May, Italian superbike manufacturer MV Agusta has now inaugurated a new dealership in the country in Ahmedabad.
Located at SG Road, Ahmedabad, the new showroom is the company's first in the state of Gujarat and the second showroom in the country. MV Agusta Ahmedabad also delivered eight motorcycles on the day of its inauguration.
"Gujarat has always supported all new product innovation, and was a pioneering market for Kinetic Luna and Kinetic Honda many years ago. Now, it has become one of the most important markets for superbikes in India. MV Agusta has received a terrific response in the country, and we have already sold over 15 motorcycles since launch," Ajinkya Firodia, the Managing Director of MV Agusta India, said.
MV Agusta entered India in partnership with the Pune-based Kinetic group. The superbikes of the company are sold through its combined sales network, MotorRoyale. The company is also expected to set up showrooms in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai soon. MV Agusta India also has distribution rights in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
The company's current India portfolio includes five models — F4, F4 RR, F3, Brutale 1090 and Brutale 1090 RR. It is expected to add a new model — the Brutale 800 — to its India range by the end of 2016. To be brought to India as CKD units, which will be assembled at Kinetic Group's plant in Pune, the Brutale 800 will be powered by an in-line 3-cylinder 798cc engine with counter-rotating crankshaft. The engine develops 116bhp and 83Nm of torque mated to six speed transmission. The motorcycle can attain a top speed of 237kmph.
